Giving is the best way to express gratitude and a simple greeting card may be all you need. It can brighten that person's day, clear away any sadness and replenish your relationship. However, you want to make sure your gift is more than a card you bought from the mall. It should be something that you've carefully planned, thought about, and dedicated time to. This is what true giving is all about.
Instead of going to your local corner store, picking up a pre-made card and sending it away with a few lines of word, why not design your own? Think about the person and the occasion you are doing it for. Is it their birthday? Did they have a new child? Or perhaps you just want to send them a card for a quick hello. No matter whatever reason it is, you should personalize the greeting cards using your creativity so that your friend would receive it with great joy with a reason to display it in their house.
All you need are a sheet of cardboard, a few colored papers, scissors, glue, and your usual art and craft materials. Some people cut out the seamless images on wrapping paper and turn it into a 3D model using silicon to build up layers. You could try it too. Or you could sew thin strips of paper together to create a flower.
There is an online art and craft store called Card Store that sells a huge range of products you could use. They have funky scissors, stamps, needles and specially designed pens used to write in script. This is one of my favorite shop and their prices are reasonably listed as well.
Your card should be more than something you've written on. It should be entirely handmade by you, and it is by this, that gives ultimate value to your gift.
